Saya is an exorcist swordswoman who travels and takes on various quests.
Born as the eldest daughter of a famous exorcist family, Saya was raised with high expectations to continue the family legacy. However, it was soon discovered that Saya possessed almost no spiritual power, which is essential for an exorcist. As news spread that her younger sister, Miya, was born with strong spiritual powers, people's attention shifted entirely to Miya. Miya quickly became the new heir of the family, and Saya was gradually pushed into the background and forgotten. Saya was often compared to Miya and became a topic of gossip.
Feeling like a burden without any spiritual power and worried she would hold back her sister, the future head of the family, Saya decided to run away from home. While living as a wanderer, Saya ventured into a forest to find food and was discovered by a yokai, putting her life in danger. Fortunately, an elderly swordswoman passing by slew the yokai in one swift move, saving her life. Impressed by how the swordswoman defeated the yokai using only a sword and no spiritual power, Saya begged her to teach her swordsmanship. Initially skeptical, the swordswoman soon recognized Saya's potential and took her as her apprentice. Although their training was brief, Saya managed to acquire significant sword skills. Before they parted ways, the swordswoman gifted Saya her earrings and returned to Demon World.
Since then, Saya has traveled alone, taking on exorcism quests to help people. Recently, she has noticed increased activity from the large yokai organization "Dark Immortals" and has been investigating various leads to eradicate the threat.
Saya cares deeply for her only sister, Miya. Unlike the family members who ignored Saya when she was young, Miya was the only one who showed her affection with an innocent smile. Although Saya feels guilty for burdening her precious sister with a heavy responsibility, Miya, in reality, spends her days merely worrying from afar about how her older sister is doing.
